this is a quote someone

We are…

We aren’t Radiohead… or The Shins. We aren’t that band that’s trying to sound like that big band that’s hot right now. We all live together and write music, play music, and live music. We fight and yell and reject each other all the time, and that comes out in our music. But we also laugh, learn and love each other, which is also very present. Other local bands either love our music or say it’s weird. What we create is unique because we all leave a piece of ourselves in every song. Our lyrics are all about our simultaneous love and hate for the world and everyone it it.

“Wildcat” - Ratatat

Mike Stroud and Evan Mast first met as Skidmore College students, but they did not work together until they recorded several songs under the name Cherry in 2001. Their 2004 debut, Ratatat, was written and recorded in Mast’s Crown Heights, Brooklyn apartment on Stroud’s PowerBook.
